Google Chrome just launched to beta, but it's clear from comments from Google co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page that they consider Chrome a major step in application development along Google's path to slay the dragon that is Microsoft Windows. This path will take Google into the heart of cloud computing, which will propel Web services on desktops, notebooks and mobile devices.
